ATLANTA, Georgia – Feb 2018 – N.A. Williams and Advance Auto Parts hosted its first Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) Meet-up earlier this month in Raleigh, North Carolina. Almost 40 auto care professionals attended the event for a night of networking, leadership development and the launch of a new program, the Raleigh Peer Mentoring Group (RPM).
“We have had a long and successful partnership with Advance Auto Parts so we felt this was just a natural fit for our two companies to host the YANG meet-up together,” said Roger McCollum, chairman and CEO of N.A. Williams. “We had a great turnout at the event with a mixture of people from all aspects of the auto care industry including manufacturing, retail, manufacturer rep agencies as well as local repair shops. We want to thank everyone who came and hopefully we can do this again next year.”
The YANG Meet-up was held at the Taverna Agora restaurant in Raleigh. One of the highlights of the event was the presentation by Nicole Jeffries, vice president and chief transformation officer for Advance Auto Parts. Jeffries gave a thought-provoking presentation on her “Four R’s of Career Planning: Reputation, Relationships, Risk, Resilience.”
“Our inaugural YANG meet-up exceeded our expectations,” said McCollum. “The feedback from the event was very positive. Our industry is fortunate to have young professionals that are eager to connect and grow their leadership skills.”
The Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) provides young auto care professionals in their twenties and thirties the opportunity to network with industry peers, enhance knowledge and improve leadership capabilities. YANG participants are future executive-level staffers of the auto care industry that see the value in establishing connections with other young professionals that will one day be business owners and key decision makers.
