ATLANTA, Georgia – March 2020 – Last month, members of the Automotive Aftermarket Association of the Southeast (AAAS) attended the AAAS Georgia Capitol Day where they met with members of the Georgia General Assembly in Atlanta to discuss the aftermarket industry and its issues. Gideon Norris, director of category management for N.A. Williams, represented N.A. Williams at the event.
“It’s exciting any time you can advocate for an industry that you are passionate about,” said Norris. “That’s why I was more than happy to join Matt Ward and AAAS at the 2020 Georgia Capitol Day to advocate for the protection of the aftermarket’s competitive position in the marketplace and consumer ownership of vehicle data. Nearly every government official we spoke with had a personal connection to the industry, whether it was by doing business with their local parts store or having family members in the industry. Having that connection helped us explain the scale of the automotive aftermarket and its importance to both small and large Georgia businesses.”
The AAAS members met with Georgia state representatives and senators to advocate on behalf of the automotive aftermarket. Key issues discussed included protecting Georgians’ access to aftermarket parts and advocating for consumer ownership of vehicle data.
